What Now

Tuesday January 14, 2025

6:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m., Virtual

It's no secret: the results of the 2024 election are devastating to the movement for sexual and reproductive health care and rights. Anti-reproductive health care politicians made gains at all levels of government by promising to further reduce basic access to care. We are now forced to reckon with a volatile, uncertain future.

Now is the time to get to work to build a pathway for reproductive freedom and prepare for the fights ahead. During this short presentation, we'll cover:

• the reproductive health care landscape today, federally and here in New York State;
• the anticipated attacks at the federal level we'll need your help to fight back against;
• the critical policies we need to demand of our New York State politicians to ensure PPHP and sexual and reproductive health care providers around the state are strong and resourced enough to keep providing care. 

Film Screening and Q&A

January 30, 2025

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Virtual

Come join us for a virtual screening of Plan C, a documentary about abortion pill access in the U.S. There will be a Q&A session with director Tracy Droz Tragos after the film. After signing up, a Zoom link will be sent closer to the event. 

High School Advocacy Program

Every other week starting February 6 ending May 15, 2025

5:00 - 6:15 p.m., Virtual

Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic is excited to announce our Spring 2025 High School Advocacy Program ! We are seeking young people from age 15-18 to join us in taking action, learning to advocate for themselves and their communities, and having fun.

The group will meet every other week starting February 6, 2025 ending May 15, 2025. All meetings will be held on Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. virtually. 

Throughout the program, you will learn about Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, how to lobby your elected officials, how to take action in your community and much more! At the end of the program, you will work with your team to plan a community action or training.

Film Screening and Packing

January 9, 2025

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Garrison

Come join us for a film screening of The Janes (2022) on January 9  at 6:00 p.m. in Garrison. During the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to pack Safer Sex Kits, consisting of different barrier methods, informative guides on how to use them, as well as information about PPHP's services and resources! 

Safer Sex Kit Packing Event

January 28, 2025

5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Smithtown

As a top sexual and reproductive health care provider, we supply safer sex materials to anyone who needs them. We need your help packing safer sex kits to meet community needs. These kits will have a variety of barrier methods and health information to ensure individuals are empowered to support their health and well-being. 

Day of Action

February 26, 2025

10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Albany

Join Planned Parenthood and hundreds of advocates from across New York on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 for Day of Action! This is our opportunity to roll up our sleeves, meet directly with lawmakers, and demand accountability and action to support sexual and reproductive health and freedom.

Show your power and make an impact by joining us in Albany for this important event. The day includes direct meetings with legislative offices, boxed lunch, transportation* (*depending on location for availability) and training in advance for advocates to prepare for their day.
